Most of us go into business because we have a passion for a service or product that we can create. Turning that passion into a profitable business can be stressful. Do you still find your business fun? It’s hard to keep focused and remember why you started the business, especially at the start!
So, what can you do to make sure you still find your business fun? Here are some tips we think keep the fun in your business.
Concentrate on what you like
Hate bookkeeping or payroll? Outsource it! There’s no point doing tasks when you really don’t enjoy them. If you can outsource these tasks this can take the pressure off leaving you to enjoy your business. After all, that’s why you started the business!
If you’re not in a position to outsource yet, find a way to make the tasks fun. Put on some of your favourite music or try completing the tasks somewhere you find relaxing.
Remember to be yourself! You’ve created your business because you are passionate about what you do. Let that be known to your clients!
Make sure you take time out
While achieving your goals is important, enjoying life is too. Make sure you take time for yourself, having that work break can re-energise you. Even if it’s a day out of the office/workshop or a long weekend/holiday. It’s easy to forget that you are the boss so you can make the decisions!
Business Networking
Talking to other like-minded business people can really boost motivation. Business networking doesn’t mean you have to join a formal group or anything. It can simply mean having a coffee with someone who really gets what you’re doing.
Meeting other business owners can also give you ideas, make contacts and potential friends who know exactly what you are going through.
More fun leads to more profit
If you love your work people can tell and they’ll want to be a part of it. This can lead to your clients wanting to leave positive reviews for your business. This can be a great tool for social media and help you gain a larger audience. That audience will also be more inclined to share/like your posts, this will help you gain more clients.
Keeping the fun and enjoyment in your business will keep you motivated to stick with your business and keep growing it.
Celebrate all wins, even the small ones!
Celebrating the positives and achievements within your business is crucial to keeping it going. Focusing on the positives will motivate you to continue growing your business.
There’s going to be stressful times in your business, which is why you should celebrate the positives, no matter how small.
Brainstorming & Business planning
Brainstorming and business planning can help you achieve your goals and keep you on track. Regular brainstorming can also be a real motivator. If you have lost a little fun or love for what you do, go back to why you started.
Remember why you wanted to start your own business. Write down all the positives that made you start your business, keep a little motivation card in your purse or wallet. It can be too easy to lose track, so keep reminding yourself of all the positives, flexibility and being your own boss are to name a few!
